And nowhere are small details more important than in the production of a royal wedding dress. It is not just a matter of a sprinkle of pearls here, and a sprinkle of a few diamantes there and heres the wedding dress. A royal wedding is a concoction that usually has some larger meaning behind its attractive faade. Sometimes the individual bride will have a personal input as to how she wants to present herself to people at large. Self-styled Princess of Hearts, Princess Diana, chose a dress to fit her title. It was largely evocative of romance. Often, the features of a royal dress will be based on the historical roots of either one or both partners. Sometimes it might be the historical facts that are part of the persons destiny. A bride who is to rule a number of countries, might have those countries insignias woven into the fabric of her dress. In the case of the wedding dress created for the then Princess Elizabeth, the dress was designed as an expression of time and place of the era in which the Princess lived. Externally, the most impressive thing about the wedding dress of the then Princess Elizabeth, was the beauty of the design. Over the whole of the dress, embroidered with white crystals and pearls, are garlands of orange blossoms, and rose buds, with trails of jasmine and syringe. While the details are beautiful in themselves, the design is based on Botticellis painting Flora. The setting of the painting is a lush garden, profuse with flowers to establish it as a bountiful spring. The garden belongs to Venus, the goddess of love, and cupid hangs somewhere above it to show that he is actively promoting love in a setting so fit for it. In this garden there are also the three graces, the very personification of beauty, grace and charm. As Zephyr, the god of the wind, pursues the nymph Chloris as they had a very bad habit of doing in Greek and Roman myths - she turns into Flora, the god of Spring and flowers. In 1947, when this wedding dress was designed, there had been little of spring and flowers in the lives of most people, and the design was a deliberate evocation of a the promise of beauty and hope for the future. The very abundance of decoration on the dress, establishes the desire to leave the scarcity of yesterday, and enter vital prosperity full of grace and charm. In The Bible - Not One Big Bang, But Two

By Bentley Thompson One popular theoretical explanation of the origin of the universe is that there was a productive cosmic explosion called the "Big Bang" somewhere between 10 and 20 billion years ago. There also could be another "Bang" and the Bible might hint at them both. Could there be a constructive explosion?
If the evolutionary theory on the origin of the universe has any credible bit of matter, it is the premise that there was once an explosion that was constructive. There could very well be a cosmic blast that "created" energy and matter. Assuming the creationists' view of origins is correct, there would be no need to wonder where the "original" matter or energy that fuelled the "bang" came from. It must have come from mere words - "Let there be..." Since that "Big Bang" there has never been another uncontrolled, yet constructive explosion recorded, I believe. Every other bang, blast, or explosion we read of today are cataclysmic and catastrophic events. Look at Hiroshima, and roadside bombs in parts of the world, for instance - all destructive events. Looking at all the order in the universe - from the atomic structure to the arrangement of solar systems - we can imagine that the "big bang" must have been a truly exceptional bang! No problem with the "big bang" concept, really
If even a strike of lightning can be so thunderous, why wouldn't the creation of massive planets, the ordering of the earth and solar system environments be commissioned on a 'bang'? Why would matter and energy creep "silently" into place when the Creator said, "Let there be...?" (Genesis 1:3, 7) I believe there could have been a cosmic, visible, and audible "coming into existence." Why not? And since God has always been Creator, He might have "sparked" this explosion millions of years before. In fact, that's why there has to be so big a range of "uncertainty" in the timing of the "Big Bang" - 10 to 20 billion years ago. But that may be only what science is able to guess at right now. The Bible says, "Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him." (Psalm 50:3, KJV). That makes me think of another "bang". If you start thinking of what is called the "Second Coming" that is it. The Bible says that Jesus promised that He would come back to earth (See John 14:3). This event has been called the Second Coming. It is what Christians look forward to. Some talk about the rapture, but whatever you call that which is framed in that promise, it will be a "Bang" - another bang! Just take a look at this: "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17) Associated with this loud event is the waking of the dead! This will be another non-destructive bang. Here's another indication an audible event: "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." (2 Peter 3:10, KJV) Some people misinterpret the phrase "as a thief in the night" to mean a secret rapture, but they fail to see the other part of the verse, "with a great noise." Which thief comes to steal with great noise? The phrase "like a thief" means unpredicted or unpredictable. We cannot predict the timing of this coming - this bang - just as we don't know when God started his business of creating the universe, but we know He did, because here you are reading this! Don't miss the next bang!
None of us knew much about anything as the "Big Bang." It's just a theory. Someone will soon come up with something else and sell some books and get rich. However, we all have the next big "bang" ahead of us, and we need to be ready for it. It doesn't matter if we die or we live before it happens, the Bible says, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment..." (Hebrews 9:27, KJV). to begin writing. Next you want to do some research
on your target market. Again the specifics
are important. Start by defining the characteristics
of the typical prospect who would benefit
most from your product. Be as thorough as
possible. What problem will your product solve
for your client? Get inside their head.
See the whole loan process from their point
of view. Constantly ask why would they
want to do this? Make another few pages of notes. Your first set of notes are features.
Theyre what your product does. The second
set of notes are benefits. Theyre the reason
the prospect will decide to buy or not. Now youre ready to write. Start with
the headline. The best place to look for the
theme of your headline is in your benefits notes. What is the most compelling reason to
buy your product? State it in writing as
clearly as you can. You have a headline.
Now, heres the important part, write another
50 headlines about the same benefit. Set that aside and start writing your
letter with your lead. Your lead should build
on and restate the theme of your headline.
Focus on the benefit to the prospect. Next, you want to back up your strong
statement of benefit with details about why
your product will lead to such a benefit.
State the features that support the statement
of benefit. For the rest of your letter you want
to weave the benefits together with supporting
features. Restate your core benefit often and
in a variety of ways. After every statement
of benefit tell your prospect why you can
deliver on your promise. You have your rough draft. Now you
need to select the best three headlines you
have and start asking people in your office
which one is better. Use the one that wins. Now its time to re-write your letter.
You should do this several times. Make your
letter sound like your talking to a favorite
uncle and explaining why your product will be
so good for him. Respect your client. Dont ever talk
down to them. Answer every question they might
have. Dont be afraid to go long long copy

What's Up With Botox?

How BIG is Your Marketing Budget?

By Bette Daoust, Ph.D. Lets face it, most of us do not want to spend a lot of money on marketing. Consultants typically would rather make an attack on a front that does not cost much. Although there are many ways that this can be done, it should only be a part of the arsenal used. So how much should be spent? Spending really depends on how much money is earned from a consulting gig. If a typical engagement brings $5,000 and it takes 2 to 3 weeks to gain the contract, then spending over $500 would be belt tightening. However, if your marketing plan is to use that money for being in the right place at the right time, then it will be well spend and likely get you another project to work on. As a consultant you will spend time on researching where to go in order to make sure you are in the right place at the right time. The $500 will be used for entrance to the event, buying food or drink for your target client, follow-up materials for the contacts you make, and subsequent travel, materials, and phone calls. Research, however, is the key to making this expenditure fruitful. Without the research, you could attend many events and never get anywhere or close to obtaining a contract. So what needs to happen when doing research? First, make sure you know the profile of the ideal client. That means every detail that is relevant to obtaining the contract. Make notes on the size of the organization, the typical entry point that is successful for you, the size of the budget they need to have for your services, the types of problems that are normal for this type of company, who is responsible for solving the problem, who makes the decisions, who approves the funding, how the process for payment works, how long it takes to become a vendor, where you can run into the ideal contact, plus anything else that ties into your expertise. Second, create a process for getting your research completed. This means, decide where you will get the information newspapers, Dun & Bradstreet, Google, and any other place that will give you good accurate information. Also find out if anyone you know has a contact within that organization. This can be a good starting point for up-to-date projects. Also, when scanning newspapers or online sources, look to see what jobs they are trying to fill. This sometimes gives you a good clue as to new projects. Last, armed with the research, you can begin to execute your marketing plan with knowledge rather than just hope. Call the right people, or at least attend an event where you can meet the ideal contact. Start the action steps from the plan and if you need help, hire someone or use a professional. The money will be well spent. Just remember that great things happen one step at a time, do not put all your efforts into one company, do at least ten at a time. If you connect with only one or two people a day then you will have contacted 40 each month for a total of 480 for the year. Out of that many connections, at least 5% (24) will become a project as long as the contacts are the ones that need the services you are offering. Emotions Are More Accurate Than Your Partner's Words

By Tim Connor We communicate on many levels but there are two primary methods of sharing information with others. They are verbal communication and non-verbal communication. About 7-10 % of our total communication in any given day is verbal. This may change slightly depending on your career, age and what is going on in your life. Estimates have been given as a result of research into non-verbal behavior, that 40-50% of all of our communication messages that are sent, are send via, non-verbal routes. Verbal communication comes from a persons conscious mind while non-verbal messages come from their unconscious mind. If there is an inconsistency in either of these two messages, in other words if you are getting clear non-verbal acceptance but verbal resistance, go with the non-verbal signals. Lets assume a spouse or significant other asks their partner what is wrong and they say nothing. The words are clear enough. Nothing means nothing, right? Well, maybe so and then again maybe not. It depends on the emotional content behind the words that will determine its accuracy. 4 Exciting New Hostas Available in 2007

By Jerry Van Der Kolk Every year around the New Year Hosta plant enthusiasts begin to get that familiar
itch. After the busy Holidays wear off it is time to start thinking about Spring! If
you have any sort of green thumb you know exactly what I am talking about. I am amazed every year with all the new plant introductions. Sometimes I wonder
where all these new plants come from? Most of all I am curious as to where people are
going to plant all these new plants? I guess I should not worry about it because it
seems the Horticulture Business is booming. So what is new in the world of hostas for 2007? There are many new varieties available
for this year so I will take the time to highlight a few of my favorites. Remember the
word favorites is a very loose term when you are dealing with a hosta collector! I like
so many different hostas it is difficult to just have a few favorites. Here is my list of
favorites for 2007. American Icon: This hosta has very large dark green leaves with a wide gold edge. Although
I have not grown this variety for more than 1 year it is suggested to grow up to 6 feet wide!
The big heart shaped leaves create a dramatic display as a result of the sharp contrasts. Dragon Tails: I have grown quite a few different varieties of hostas over the years but this is
one of the brightest yellows I have ever seen. A fast growing clump of long, narrow leaves.
These bright yellow leaves have a wonderful wavy edge which really adds some dimension to this
small hosta. Definitely consider this hosta if you are looking for something small and tidy with
great eye appeal. Frosted Dimples: This is a classic looking hosta with the normal green leaves outlined with a creamy
gold border. Graceful leaves are heart shaped and form a healthy looking clump. With some maturity
these leaves will display a pebble like surface giving the plant a good texture feel. Although similar
to many other hostas this variety tends to both grow well and hold its coloration throughout the season. Journeys End: If I had to use only one word to describe this variety it would be WOW! An amazing
sport which looks like the reverse color patterns of American Icon mentioned above. Large heart shaped leaves with gently ruffled edges make this hosta an instant hit. Exceptional color contrasts mesmerize all who happen to catch a glance of this beauty. I have grown this beauty and it performs wonderful. Well there you have it. 4 New Hostas for 2007.
