The True Meaning Of Christmas - Without The Fluff

By James Krehbiel The meaning of Christmas is not embedded in the holiday tradition itself. Although bumper stickers reading, Jesus is the reason for the season, are clearly noticeable, it is significant to note that the early Christian church did not celebrate the birth of Christ. Nowhere is Christmas mentioned in the New Testament as a historical and biblical account. The tradition evolved later in church history. In fact, for these and other reasons, many Christians bypass Christmas as a holiday, preferring to place emphasis on Easter, notable for the biblical account of the resurrection of Christ. Regardless of the history, I choose not to be so literal about my holidays. In spite of the commercialism and materialism which tarnishes the spirit of Christmas, the holiday does signify some universal meaning. For the Christian community, the meaning of Christmas must take on a broader significance in todays world. The question we must pose is, Will I turn inward and be exclusive in my dealings with other people who share different faith traditions, or will I recognize, respect and embrace the richness of cultural differences. This issue is of primary importance in light of recent political/cultural polarization fostered by many in our Christian community and our federal government. Recently, a story came to my attention about Christmas decorations displayed at the Seattle airport. A Rabbi had made a request, not because of the Christmas arrangements, but because his holiday had been ignored. The Rabbi requested that the airport display Menorahs symbolizing Hanukah. The airport bulked at the suggestion, the Rabbi threatened suit, and the airport proceeded to remove the Christmas trees. The Rabbi had never asked that the trees be removed. Im sure the airports reasoning went something like, If we have to display Menorahs, God only knows who else we will have to support! As tormented as he is, Rodney King had it right Cant we all just get along. Herein lays the true meaning of Christmas. Its not about turning inward, its about looking outward. Its not about merely looking through the eyes of your own faith, its about seeing through the eyes of our friends who happen to share a different faith orientation. The true meaning of Christmas is tainted by our need to defend and protect our beliefs. True faith calls for reaching out to others who dont necessarily share our same beliefs. The true meaning of Christmas is a call for tolerance, acceptance, and unity. What a wonderful tribute could have been demonstrated in the Seattle airport to the universality of faith traditions had they opened their hearts and minds to a Rabbi, rather than blaming him for stirring up the pot. What is wrong with us? As Christians, we politicize private medical decisions, expect the world to eagerly embrace our ideals without emulating them, and continue to profile people who share different values and cultural perspectives. We deny our insensitivity, stay within our emotional bubble and celebrate our Merry Christmas with those like us. The true meaning of Christmas involves getting our heads out of the sand, and clearly viewing the world the way it really is. It means joining hands with those who are different than we are, and embracing their right to live freely in this wonderful country. May we all pause this Christmas and take action to support the poor, the needy, the disenfranchised, and particularly our brother and sisters who see the world from a perspective different from ours. are used on three major levels - they are used at first by models, then by agents

When a model attends an open call they will typically meet with the agent, have their

lot of time can be dedicated to each person trying out. When the interview is over,
the model leaves their composite card behind - never their portfolio. When the open

Just examining last seasons percentage of admits at selective universities will verify this fact. There are those who continue to bombard the independent college consultant in their private efforts to guide these students. Their services invariably improve family relations and reduces stress. In addition, nearly all independent counselors take pro bono students. The simple truth is that thousands of students are not getting the guidance they need. Alpha Males Are NOT The Ultimate Players Or Lovers Nice Guys Are

By Christine Akiteng There is a lot of talk about The Ultimate Players lately: Who is The Ultimate Player? What Can I do to become The Ultimate Player? I have personally never hidden my disgust and disdain for so-called players or pick-up artists. I find them to be modern worlds scum of the worst kind, mainly because many of them deliberately try to destabilize, degrade, or diminish another persons self concept, world view, emotional control, awareness and interpretation of reality, in order to gain advantage over that person. And please don't give me that crap about "women who want men they can dominate". I come from generations of warriors - 7 foot tall, all lean muscle with (you-know what) danggling all the way to the knee. Brave warriors who fight lions with just a spear (they don't come any more masculine than that!). The lowest low any warrior can go is attack someone who has fallen down. It is considered cowardice of the lowest order one not even a scavenging vulture or hyena can stoop down to. But this article is not about self-acclaimed players, it is about self-acclaimed Nice Guys. This is nice not in the sense of sensitive and attentive but "nice" like in wimpy clingy compliant puppy dog kind of men. Let me back up a little. There are two kinds of Nice Guys. There is the "Nice guy" who is thoughtful, confident (emotionally, physically and sexually) and can be relied on to take charge and get things done. He is called Nice because he is sensitive, attentive and considerate. In other words he doesnt pretend to be the Alpha Male because he is also in touch with his feminine side. This is the rare breed of men. And ladies, if youve got one, hold on tight. Then there is the "Nice guy" who exhibits some even slightly non masculine (and nonsexual) tendencies, which typically arise from a desire to be "sensitive, attentive and considerate" but quite often backfires because "Mr. Nice often confuses "spineless" with "sensitive" and attentiveness with indecisiveness. These are guys who may have been raised by females who were very manipulative and controlling and as a result these men have not learned healthy ways of relating to women. But thats not the worst part, these Nice Guys have also become great at playing the victim role and use this to manipulate and control women in the worst possible imaginable ways. Maybe you will say, Wait a minute. Nice Guys could never ever manipulate or control a woman. They are the victims here. And that is where you are dead wrong. It might surprise you to learn that just as Players advertise themselves as Alpha Males, these Nice Guys advertise an identity of Weak Victim. Alpha Males pride themselves in persuading and breaking down resistance by use of domination. Nice Guys use victimization which interestingly appeals to women who have that natural instinct to mother and often want to rescue and take care of this poor, misunderstood, mistreated and abused Nice Guy. This is the Nice Guys position of power and control. But I have to be fair. These Nice Guys on most part are not themselves even aware that they are caught up in the unconscious desire to feel victimized. All they know is that theyre always clinging to the women that theyre afraid of losing. They are always clinging to any slight indication of friendliness on a woman's part. They will stalk her, beg her, turn themselves inside out and even kiss ass, if that is what it takes for her to look their direction. They seem to never get a break, at least not enough love for them to feel like not victim. Like any kind of manipulation it comes back to bite Nice Guy ass, same as the Alpha Male. Manipulative techniques attract equally manipulative women. If you are acclaimed Nice Guy and really tired of chasing, begging and clinging, realize that its never too late to change. Stop looking at your struggles right from childhood as only pain and suffering and realize that, that same pain and suffering also have endowed you with a sensitive side and has brought you in touch with your feminine side which is a very attractive quality to women - especially when it's not overdone like you do. Give up the pride of feeling victimized, along with your secret hope to taste revenge for all the hurt and abuse you have ever suffered and you could be living the relationship of your dreams. How To Get Yourself Walking In The Spirit

I encourage you all to read it as the Father made some very valid points and used a lot of scripture to support what He was teaching her. It is my hope that the readers of this just don't read it, but study it and apply it in their life. I would appreciate any feedback from people that learned something from it. The LORD saith: I desire you, all of you. You have been faithful so far in the knowledge that you know, but many times you try and have Me back your plans rather then seeking My face and letting My Spirit speak in your heart. My scripture speaks on this, Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct[a] your paths. It's in your heart that I speak. It in your intuition that My Spirit speaks. Not in your mind. You have a very driven mind. Always thinking and it's like a fine dark stallion in the wild. It can lead others and it commands respect.
But your mind needs to be broken in, your mind needs My discipline. You need to submit to My Spirit and let My Word be in your heart and direct you.
I have made this very clear to you very often. Once again I make it clear through the pen of my prophet. Someone that does not know you at all. Proverbs 3:7 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and depart from evil. Your wisdom is carnal and of the flesh and from below often. The enemies playground is the mind and he has a wonderful time with yours. One of his favorite lies to you is that you are wise, yet this scripture declares it is a sin to think you are wise. Galatians 6:3 3 For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Paul my apostle wrote this under inspiration form My Holy Spirit. Can you imagine the humility that it took for him to write this? You see Paul knew the wisdom he shared was spiritual treasure from above. Jeremiah 9:23-24
23 Thus says the LORD: " Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;
24 But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me,
That I am the LORD, exercising loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight," says the LORD. You need to know me. You need to really know me. Few people take the time to get to know me yet they glory in their own flesh, their might, their riches, their own wisdom.
Few people know me well enough to converse with me like Moses did! Jeremiah 9:12-14 12 Who is the wise man who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through?
13 And the LORD said, "Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it, 14 but they have walked according to the dictates of their own hearts and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them,"
Why is judgment coming on the earth? Because man has forsaken my law! Jeremiah 9:25-26 25 "Behold, the days are coming," says the LORD, "that I will punish all who are circumcised with the uncircumcised 26 Egypt, Judah, Edom, the people of Ammon, Moab, and all who are in the farthest corners, who dwell in the wilderness. For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart." Destruction is coming! But who can see it coming? You need to know Me. You need to Me more then just knowing My Word in your mind. Eeven a parrot can recite scripture but we know the parrot doesn't live it! Jeremiah 8:14 14 " Why do we sit still?
Assemble yourselves,
And let us enter the fortified cities,
And let us be silent there.
For the LORD our God has put us to silence
And given us water of gall to drink,
Because we have sinned against the LORD. You need to sit still in my presance, you need to meditate My Word and let it sink form you mind to your heart. You need to let My Spirit activate scripture in your heart and let your spirit dictate that to your mind. Romans 12:1-3 Romans 12 Living Sacrifices to God 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. Here are three steps: 1. You need to crucify yourself and lay your body, mind and soul on my alter. 2. You need to read scripture and meditate scripture for so long that My Spirit plants it deep in your heart. 3. You need to let that implanted Word change your thoughts and actions and convert your mind from a sensual carnal mind to the very mind of Christ. Romans 11:34 34 " For who has known the mind of the LORD?
Or who has become His counselor?" You think that your serve Me but your run with a carnal mind and make flesh your strength. Jeremiah 17:5-6
5 Thus says the LORD: " Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the LORD.
6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,
And shall not see when good comes,
But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,
In a salt land which is not inhabited. Your life is dry and parched and you lack Living Water in your life. Psalm 112:5-6 5 A good man deals graciously and lends;
He will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he will never be shaken;
The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. Who should you obey and serve? Where should you direct your money? Who is lying who is telling the truth! Psalm 112:1
1 Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD,
Who delights greatly in His commandments. Psalm 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper. Joshua 1:5-7 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. Just as a father the son in whom he delights. If you pay to see a doctor and he gives you medicince and advice, you take the medicine and his advice and you pay him! If you have a problem in law you approach a lawyer and seek his counsel and if you are wise you take his advice. Today, you have sought me and my counsel and I give you medicine, the Word of God and my counsel is WALK IN IT! Proverbs 3:9-10 9 Honor the LORD with your possessions,
And with the first fruits of all your increase;
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty,
And your vats will overflow with new wine. Therefore honor me! Honor me with your prayers and your time in the Word. Give me the first hours of your day, pray to me, read my Word and sow into my kingdom. Proverbs 3:13-18 13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
And the man who gains understanding;
14 For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver,
And her gain than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies,
And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand,

Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. My Word is wisdom. The application of My Word is wisdom. Knowledge of My Word is useless and profits nothing. Many people hold PHD's in theology and yet the WORLD is a mess and the church is out of control! Why is this so, when all this knowledge abounds! Proverbs 3:25-26 25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror,
Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;
26 For the LORD will be your confidence,
And will keep your foot from being caught. Who is going to be your confidence when terror strikes your country? Will you be standing on My Word or taking the advice of other men or your own flesh? Jeremiah 17:5 5 Thus says the LORD: " Cursed is the man who trusts in man

Whose heart departs from the LORD. Or will you be trusting in Me and my WORD? Jeremiah 17:7-8 7 " Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
And whose hope is the LORD.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear[a] when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Your mind is being directed by an un generated heart. You need My implanted Word to renew your heart and transform your mind. Because Jeremiah 17:9 9 " The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it? For: Jeremiah 17:10 10 I, the LORD, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings. It is written in scripture. I will repay every man according to his doings. Galatians 6:7-8 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption , but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. I am not mocked. If you sow to the flesh you will become parched ground and Jeremiah 17:5-6 promises. If you sow to the Spirit then Jeremiah 17:7-8 applies. James 1:22 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
